FAQ

About Nine & Above

What is Nine & Above?

Nine & Above is a Swedish brand focused on male equestrian apparel, performance riding wear developed to inspire boys and men to get up and stay in the saddle.

Why choose Nine & Above?

Simply because we care. Our products are designed, crafted, and produced for male riders with a no-shortcuts mindset. Made mainly in Europe from premium fabrics and trims, built for long-term value and timeless design.

Why products only for male equestrians?

Because it’s needed. Right or wrong, the equestrian apparel industry has long had a dominant focus on female riders. We believe boys and men deserve more — apparel tailored to the their anatomy, with real riders showing what this sport can be, both inside and outside the community.

What about your name?

The spark that started Nine & Above came when our founder, Peter, couldn’t find a men’s riding jacket. In a full Swedish tack shop, only half a shelf was for men. The research that followed revealed that just nine percent of riders in Sweden (2018) were male. The name Nine & Above is a statement, a reminder that we can, and should, go above those nine percent.

Products & Sizing

Where are your products made?

All products are designed in Sweden and produced with trusted partners, mainly in Europe. We only work with factories that share our values in addition to skilled craftsmanship, fair conditions, and responsible production.

How do your sizes fit?

Our fit is athletic — tailored for male riders and made for movement. If you’re between sizes or prefer a looser feel, go one up. You’ll find detailed size guides on each product page. Also use the help of looking at our models and sizes they wear – they are all real riders like yourself.

Why do you only offer sizes from XS to L?

As a new brand, our production runs are limited by minimum order quantities. Most riders will fit within the current size range, but more sizes will come as we grow. If you’re unsure, email us your measurements — we’ll give you an honest fit recommendation.

How about your next collection?

We have our plans ready and new products are always under development based on what we believe would best serve the male rider community. Current collection will not go away, rather evolve based on your feedback on any possible improvements.

When will a sold-out product be restocked?

We restock core pieces continuously since we don’t follow seasonal collections.
If you have a specific question, contact us at hello@nineandabove.com.

How should I care for my clothes?

Every garment includes care instructions. In general: use gentle wash cycles, avoid softeners, and hang to dry. You’ll also find a care-symbol cheat sheet under Product Care on our Customer Service page.

Do you offer repairs?

We stand by our quality. If something isn’t right, contact us — we’ll help with manufacturing issues or recommend trusted repair options.

Sustainability & Materials

Are your products sustainable?

Each product is made in the most sustainable way we’ve found possible — balancing performance, durability, and responsibility. Our belief is simple: true sustainability starts with quality that lasts, both in design and in use. We also strive to produce close to our customers, mainly within Europe.

What is the origin of your fabrics?

Our fabrics are made in Europe by top-tier manufacturers — primarily in Italy, France, and Portugal. The only exception is the shell fabric for our Blacked Out Vest, sourced from Japan for its unmatched ripstop expertise.

How do you reduce your environmental impact?

We design in Sweden, manufacture mainly in Europe, and minimise unnecessary transport. We prioritise quality and long-term value over low cost and always choose the sustainable alternative when available. Each product page highlights its specific sustainability considerations.

Do you use animal materials?

Yes, in limited and responsible ways. Vegetable-tanned full-grain leather is used for our belts, and RWS-certified merino wool for our Tricolor Stripe Knit Beanie. For insulation, we use PrimaLoft® made from 100 % recycled polyester — a durable, easy-to-wash and cruelty-free alternative to down.

Why do you ship in plastic mailing bags?

We use mailing bags made from 80 % recycled polyethylene — a choice that leaves the smallest CO₂ footprint when you consider the full life cycle, from production to efficient transport.

Account & Privacy

Do I need an account to order?

No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account just makes tracking and future purchases easier.

Is my personal data safe?

Yes. We comply with GDPR and handle your data with care. We never sell or share your information without consent. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
